This is an attractive opportunity for a talented solicitor or legal executive to forge a career in a strong commercial insurance team. The hiring managers are looking for a qualified fee earner with strong subrogated recoveries experience as well as, ideally, exposure to coverage.

• Previous Experience: Previous experience of property damage, or general commercial insurance litigation / subrogated loss would be ideal.

Experienced Solicitor or Legal Executive

This expanding property damage and liability team is looking for an experienced Solicitor or Legal Executive to add further strength to the department. In particular, the Partners are looking for candidates with a mix of the following:

• strong litigation skills – ideally previous experience of subrogated loss;
• Ideally exposure to insurance coverage work;
• strong attention to detail;
• focus on high-level client service delivery.

Examples of work undertaken by lawyers in the team

The firm advises all the major top insurance houses in the market on national and international disputes. This team in particular specialises in property damage / subrogated recoveries work at various levels of complexity including coverage disputes.

Instructions might include claims relating to a number of insured perils such as:

• fire damage;
• chemical leaks;
• water escapes;
• construction and engineering disputes.
• Coverage disputes and other issues relating to policy indemnity.

Some of the work handled by lawyers is high-value, complex, and often very technical in nature. The team is renowned for its ability to handle demanding, large-scale contentious matters and has a formidable range of experience on which to draw.

Transferable skill-sets

All applicants should have a proven background in litigation, whether that be in commercial litigation or commercial insurance litigation eg property damage; professional indemnity or another area of reinsurance / subrogated loss.
