Catastrophic Injury Solicitor – EL/PL Specialist Team – Manchester

Our client is looking for a talented catastrophic injury solicitor to join their niche team in Manchester. You will focus predominantly on niche complex EL/PL work. This role offers challenging cases with global insurers as well as self-insured corporates.

Overview

• Job Title: Associate
• Location: Manchester
• Salary: Up to £57,000
• Work Pattern: Hybrid (3 days WFH)
• Reports to: Partner
• Experience: 2-5 PQE Solicitor or Legal Executive with strong academics and EL/PL expertise.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of technical multi-track EL/PL matters.
• Assist on complex injury/catastrophic work, including cases exceeding £1m.
• Draft pleadings, report to clients
• Develop client relationships.
• Prepare instructions to counsel and experts,
• Attend conferences.
• Conduct research and contribute to thought leadership.

Structure of the Team

• Led by two Partners, 2 Legal Directors, and 3 Senior Associates.
• Focuses on rarer, esoteric catastrophic injury and lower value, but work.

Client Base

‘Tier 1’ global insurers and corporates operating across numerous sectors including manufacturing, logistics and agriculture.

Outstanding Work

• Handles technical EL/PL defence work and rare cases such as civil liability issues following a terrorist act.
• Go-to team for complex technical EL/PL work within the Large Loss practice group.
