Healthcare Senior Associate or Legal Director – Manchester

Senior Healthcare Lawyer – Manchester – Our client is a the top healthcare team of a leading law firm. They are looking for a Senior Associate or Legal Director to join their Manchester office. The Partners are looking for lawyers with strong healthcare regulatory experience and are keen to meet with candidates with a sold ‘top tier’ background. Ideally you will have strong regulatory, disciplinary and inquest experience.

Criminal experience is also important. The team handles cases involving gross negligence including manslaughter, neglect and medicines act offences as well as sexual assault and common assault. They also have an established specialism dealing with fraud against the NHS.

  • Previous Experience: 6 PQE + – Candidates must have strong Healthcare experience preferably from another national firm. Strong criminal experience is also required.

Mix of quality regulatory, inquest and criminal work

Our client has a strong national healthcare offering, but is looking to strengthen the Manchester team. The work on offer is highly varied and may involve:

  • defending healthcare professionals and organisations in regulatory proceedings before statutory regulators such as the GMC/MPTS, GDC, GOC, GPhC, NMC and HCPC;
  • advising on disciplinary proceedings before NHS Trusts and NHS England;
  • Advising on criminal matters including gross negligence manslaughter, sexual assault and common assault, fraud against the NHS, perverting the course of justice and
  • Advising in relation to DBS matters especially following the closure of criminal and regulatory investigations.
  • Conducting high-profile inquest work;
  • handling other healthcare matters such as CQC proceedings, data disputes and public inquiries;
  • advising on patient complaints as well as SUI and Ombudsman investigations;
