Fantastic opportunity for Associate or Senior Associate in leading cyber team
Cyber & Technology Insurance Solicitor – Associate / Senior Associate
London | 1-8 PQE | Hybrid working | to £125,000
A leading international law firm is looking to recruit an Associate or Senior Associate into its highly regarded Data & Cyber team in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with experience in cyber incident response, insurance coverage or technology and data-related claims to join a growing specialist practice. You will advise on sophisticated cyber matters for insurers, insured businesses and major corporate clients, often in fast-moving and commercially sensitive circumstances.
A genuinely integrated cyber practice
The team combines extensive cyber incident response capability with a strong understanding of the insurance market. Its lawyers support clients throughout the lifecycle of a cyber event—from immediate breach response and crisis management through to policy notification, regulatory engagement, coverage disputes and third-party claims.
You will work on matters including:
- Cyber insurance policy interpretation and coverage analysis
- Complex and high-value cyber claims, including multi-insurer matters
- Coverage correspondence, reservations of rights and claims strategy
- Ransomware, cyber extortion and other significant security incidents
- Technology errors and omissions exposures
- Technology and data-related liability claims
- ICO notifications, investigations and regulatory engagement
- Data subject and other third-party claims arising from cyber incidents
- Pre-action matters, mediations, ADR and litigation
- Pre-breach planning, post-incident communications and remediation
The team also advises corporate clients on uninsured cyber incidents, working alongside trusted forensic and technical incident-response specialists.
Responsibility and direct client exposure
You will work closely with partners while developing direct relationships with insurers, insureds, brokers, in-house lawyers, CISOs, forensic providers and external counsel.
Associates will be supported in taking increasing responsibility for complex matters. Senior Associates will have the opportunity to lead workstreams, manage substantial claims and supervise junior lawyers.
What the firm is looking for
Applications are welcomed from solicitors with approximately 1-8 years’ PQE and experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Cyber breach and incident response
- Cyber or technology insurance coverage
- Insurance policy interpretation and coverage disputes
- Technology or data-related claims and litigation
- Data protection and incident-led regulatory work
Experience of advising on cyber insurance coverage—including breach response policies, large claims or multi-insurer matters—would be particularly valuable.
You should also be able to demonstrate:
- Strong drafting and analytical ability
- Sound commercial judgement
- The ability to remain calm and organised during urgent incidents
- Confidence dealing directly with clients and external stakeholders
- The ability to manage several matters and competing deadlines
- A collaborative and supportive approach
