Senior Associate – Contentious Construction
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contentious Construction Solicitor to join a growing construction and engineering disputes practice in London.
 
The team is continuing to expand, with a particular increase in international arbitration work, creating an opportunity for an ambitious Senior Associate to work on substantial and complex disputes arising from major UK and international projects.

The Role
 
This is a purely contentious role, advising clients across a broad range of building, construction and engineering disputes. You will take significant responsibility for matters while working closely with experienced lawyers across the wider construction practice.
Alongside existing instructions, there will be an opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the contentious construction offering, making this particularly attractive for someone looking to build their profile and practice within the sector.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on complex contentious construction and engineering matters
  • Working on disputes arising from significant UK and international projects
  • Supporting the team’s growing international arbitration workload
  • Providing clear, commercial and cost-effective advice on complex construction issues
  • Working collaboratively with other specialist teams, including providing technical support on professional indemnity matters where required
  • Contributing to business development through client relationships, seminars, workshops and thought leadership

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor with strong contentious construction experience
  • Experience advising on complex construction and/or engineering disputes
  • Strong commercial awareness with a pragmatic approach to resolving disputes
  • Able to assimilate complex information quickly and provide straightforward, practical advice
  • Comfortable managing responsibilities independently and working to demanding timescales
  • Interested in client development, networking and helping grow a developing practice
