A leading national regulatory practice is seeking a Solicitor to join its expanding Manchester team.

Applications are welcomed from newly qualified lawyers through to c.3 years’ PQE who are looking to develop their careers within a highly regarded regulatory and investigations practice.

This is an exceptional opportunity to advise major national and international organisations, including FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies, on complex and high-profile regulatory matters.

Exposure to quality regulatory work

You will join a specialist team that advises corporate clients, insurers and public sector organisations on a broad range of regulatory, criminal and health and safety matters.

The team is recognised for its expertise in handling serious incidents, investigations and prosecutions, acting on some of the most significant regulatory cases in the market. You will work alongside experienced Partners and senior lawyers, gaining exposure to high-profile cases and advocacy opportunities from an early stage.

Impressive range

You will advise on a range of complex regulatory and criminal matters, including:

  • Corporate manslaughter investigations
  • Health and safety prosecutions
  • Environmental offences and investigations
  • Inquests and public inquiries
  • Regulatory enforcement proceedings
  • Incident response and crisis management
  • Interviews under caution and criminal investigations

Clients range from multinational corporations and household-name businesses to public sector organisations operating across a variety of sectors.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assisting with and, where appropriate, leading inquests, hearings and regulatory proceedings
  • Drafting witness statements, legal submissions and case documentation
  • Reviewing evidence and preparing matters for trial and hearings
  • Attending interviews under caution, court hearings and inquests
  • Advising clients throughout investigations and enforcement proceedings
  • Liaising with regulators including the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Care Quality Commission (CQC), Environment Agency and Police
  • Supporting business development and thought leadership initiatives

Desired skillset
