QA Analyst / Test Analyst – Liverpool – The busy PMO of this highly regarded global law firm is looking for a Quality Assurance / Test Analyst to join the Liverpool team. The successful candidate will be an experienced QA Analyst and with join a thriving IT PMO of Project Managers, Business Analysts and Testers spread across the firm’s national and international network.

  • Job title: QA Analyst / Test Analyst
  • Location: Liverpool (Flexible working options available)
  • Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
  • Reports to: QA Lead / Project Manager
  • Previous Experience: Experienced QA Analyst used to working alongside project teams as well as external software providers and writing and executing test scripts. Candidates must possess excellent attention to detail and must be experienced in scoping out timelines for testing as well as issue management and post launch support.

Be involved in a range of projects across this expanding IT PMO

The QA Analysts form an integral part of the IT PMO of this leading global law firm. They are involved in a range of projects across the firm. Some may involve working with packaged software configured to suit the firm’s needs.

Other projects are more bespoke requiring a requiring a deep understanding of the project requirements and the ability to scope out and write specific test scripts.

The testers support the project team through functional testing, UAT and project launch and they see the project through from initiation to completion.

This is an exciting time to be a part of this large PMO. The project Portfolio is reviewed annually and also encompasses a wider three-to-five-year strategy The projects vary from small localised initiatives to large, complex pan-organisation projects across the firm’s infrastructure, technical and business systems.

As a guide, project timescales vary from 3 months to three years. Project timescales are varied with our current portfolio delivering projects between three months to three years duration.

Test analyst – the key skills

The hiring managers are considering a broad range of candidates. In particular, applicants should demonstrate experience of:

  • writing and executing detailed test scripts
  • working with integrated software and APIs
  • working with external solution providers
  • estimating, planning and scope management around testing
  • working with release management and regression testing
  • working with Change Control within a project
  • working with SQL
  • working with data migration projects
  • working with Jira software for testing purposes

In addition, applicants should have excellent communication skills and be used to working closely with stakeholders. Candidates who have previous experience working for a professional services firm such as a law firm or accountancy firm are encouraged to apply, though applications are welcomed from all sectors.
