A leading national insurance litigation practice is seeking a Property Damage Solicitor to join its growing Birmingham team.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist expertise within a highly regarded property damage and commercial insurance practice, acting for a broad range of insurer and corporate clients on complex and high-value disputes.
Whether you already specialise in property damage litigation or are looking to build upon a broader insurance or commercial disputes background, this role offers high-quality work, excellent training and genuine opportunities for progression.
Established and growing team
You will join an established and expanding team handling a diverse range of property damage and insurance-related disputes. The role offers exposure to technically challenging claims, significant client contact and the opportunity to work alongside recognised specialists in the field.
Depending on your level of experience, you will manage your own caseload and/or support senior lawyers on larger and more complex matters.
Exciting range of work
Your caseload will include:
- Property damage claims arising from fire, flood, escape of water and subsidence
- Construction-related property damage disputes
- Subrogated recovery actions
- Insurance coverage disputes
- Liability defence matters
- Complex commercial insurance litigation
You will advise insurer clients throughout the litigation process, from initial investigations through to settlement or trial.
What you’ll be going
- Managing a caseload of property damage and insurance disputes
- Investigating liability, causation and quantum issues
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements and technical reports
- Liaising with insurer clients, experts, brokers and counsel
- Advising on litigation strategy and settlement opportunities
- Assisting senior lawyers on complex and high-value claims
- Supporting business development initiatives and client relationships
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members where appropriate
Broad range of candidates considered
Applications are welcomed from Solicitors with at least 1 year’s PQE who can demonstrate experience in:
- Property damage litigation
- Subrogated recovery work
- Insurance litigation
- Commercial disputes
You will also possess:
- Strong technical, analytical and drafting skills
- Excellent communication and client management abilities
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to dispute resolution
- The ability to manage competing priorities effectively
