Construction & Engineering Solicitor – Non-Contentious
Associate / Senior Associate | London | 3+ PQE
Salary: Up to £130,000, dependent on experience
Previous Experience: Non-contentious construction and engineering, including construction contracts and transactional advisory work.
The Opportunity
We are working with a highly regarded London law firm looking to appoint an experienced Solicitor to its growing non-contentious Construction & Engineering team.
The team advises developers, financial institutions, investors, landlords, tenants, contractors and consultants on a broad range of construction and engineering projects.
This is an opportunity to become a key member of an expanding practice, working closely with experienced lawyers on high-quality transactions while developing your own client relationships and professional profile.
The Work
You will advise on a variety of construction and engineering matters, including:
- Drafting and negotiating construction contracts, including JCT, NEC and FIDIC forms
- Advising on procurement strategies and contractual arrangements
- Preparing professional appointments, collateral warranties and associated documentation
- Supporting development, investment and property finance transactions
- Advising clients on contractual risks and commercial considerations
- Working alongside the wider Real Estate team on complex transactions
- Contributing to client relationships and business development
What We’re Looking For
- Approximately 3-6 years’ PQE in non-contentious construction and/or engineering
- Experience gained within a recognised construction practice
- Familiarity with standard-form contracts, particularly JCT, NEC or FIDIC
- Strong drafting, negotiation and technical skills
- A commercially minded approach and confidence dealing directly with clients
- Enthusiasm for business development and contributing to a growing team
Why Consider This Role?
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction lawyer looking to take on greater responsibility within a growing practice, rather than simply joining an established team.
You’ll benefit from varied, high-quality transactional work, direct Partner access and the opportunity to develop your own client relationships.
The firm offers a supportive, collaborative environment, with hybrid and flexible working arrangements available.
