Legal Cashier / Senior Legal Cashier
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Cashier to join a growing and ambitious national law firm.
The firm is seeking a self-starter with strong knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules and legal accounting procedures, who can confidently manage day-to-day cashiering responsibilities while maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and compliance.
Location: Remote – Occasional Travel to West and East Midlands Required.
Salary: Up to £40,000 (dependent on experience)
Full-Time | Permanent
The Role
This is a key appointment within the finance function and would suit an experienced legal cashier who enjoys working autonomously and taking ownership of processes. Initially joining as part of a small team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the firm’s continued growth, with the opportunity to help shape and develop the cashiering function as the team expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing client and office account transactions in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules
- Managing client and office account reconciliations
- Processing CHAPS, BACS and international payments
- Posting receipts and payments accurately onto the firm’s accounts system
- Handling completion statements and financial transactions relating to legal matters
- Managing client-to-office transfers and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Assisting with month-end procedures and reporting
- Supporting fee earners and support staff with financial queries
About You
- Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier within a UK law firm
- Strong working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules
- Experience managing legal accounting transactions with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working in a growing environment and helping build processes
Desirable Experience
- Experience using LEAP case management software
- Conveyancing accounting experience
