Our client, a ‘top tier’ law firm with a leading healthcare practice is looking to hire a Senior Healthcare Lawyer. Candidates should have significant experience in regulatory, disciplinary, inquest, and criminal proceedings work.

- Salary: Up to £90,000
- Work Pattern: Hybrid working
- Experience Required: 5+ years PQE in healthcare law
Mix of regulatory disciplinary and inquest work
Our client is seeking a Senior Associate or Legal Director to join their highly reputable healthcare team, with offices in both Manchester and Birmingham. This opportunity is ideal for lawyers with a passion for defending healthcare professionals and organisations in high-profile regulatory and criminal investigations.
Key responsibilities
- Defend healthcare professionals in criminal and regulatory proceedings, including cases of gross negligence manslaughter, neglect, and fraud against the NHS.
- Represent clients in cases involving statutory regulators such as the GMC/MPTS, GDC, GOC, GPhC, NMC, and HCPC.
- Advise on disciplinary proceedings with NHS Trusts and NHS England.
- Handle inquests, CQC proceedings, data disputes, and public inquiries.
- Manage patient complaints, Serious Untoward Incidents (SUI), and Ombudsman investigations.
What we’re looking for
- Minimum 5 years of PQE in healthcare law, ideally from a national firm.
- Strong background in regulatory, disciplinary, and inquest matters.
- Previous experience representing healthcare professionals in criminal proceedings is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to build and nurture client relationships.
- Strong leadership skills and an interest in business development.
