We are working with a number of leading national and international law firms who are looking for experienced employment solicitors as this practice area continues to enjoy one of its busiest ever years.

  • Previous Experience: Minimum of 4 years PQE. Candidates should have a range of non-contentious and contentious experience coupled with a ‘commercial’ approach to delivering advice.

We now have a number of mandates for various leading national and international law firms as they continue to strengthen their employment teams. The opportunities tend to be in major city centres such as Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Newcastle as well as Scotland (including Edinburgh and Glasgow).

Our clients are high regarded law firms acting for an impressive client base ranging from FTSE 100 to well-known national and international businesses and brands.

All these roles tend to demand roughly 4 PQE or more. Whilst exact role profiles may differ from law firm to law firm, successful candidates will advise on a varied mixture of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:

  • Day-to-day strategic employment advice
  • Employment aspects of corporate and commercial transactions
  • Business transfers, outsourcing arrangements and TUPE
  • Employment tribunal, civil court and appellate litigation
  • Restructuring and redundancy exercises
  • Workplace and regulatory investigations
  • Compliance projects arising from new legal requirements
  • Cross-border projects and multi-jurisdictional employment matters

Who we are looking to speak to

Applications are invited from Employment Solicitors with at least four years’ post-qualification experience. These positions could be appointed at either Associate, Senior Associate or Legal Director level depending on candidate experience.

Candidates should have:

  • Experience of both contentious and non-contentious employment law
  • Strong technical and drafting skills
  • The ability to manage matters and client relationships effectively
  • A commercial and pragmatic approach to advice
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive, personable and collaborative working style
  • An interest in contributing to the continued development of the practice
