Criminal Regulatory Solicitor – Bolton

Criminal Regulatory Solicitor / Associate – This expanding team, which deals with a broad range of matters from motor crime to healthcare regulatory and environmental matters, is looking for a solicitor to strengthen the department. Ideally candidates will have a criminal / regulatory background. For instance, you might have experience attending criminal hearings and inquests or you may have more general regulatory and compliance experience.

  • Reports to: Partner
  • Previous experience: Ideally a background in motor crime and / or regulatory and compliance. Any experience of trials or inquests would be useful as well as liaising with the Court, Coroner’s Office and CQC, Police, HSE or relevant regulator.

The criminal regulatory team – an introduction

The criminal regulatory team undertake a broad spectrum of work form motor crime work to healthcare and environmental regulatory matters. Lawyers in the team advise everyone from insurance companies to corporate entities. The nature of the work can involve everything from inquests and criminal hearings to advising on day-to-day compliance issues. Lawyers may find themselves attending hearings at the magistrate’s court, crown court and coroner’s court or they may find themselves in the boardroom carrying out compliance audits.

A role offering support and opportunity to develop

This is primarily an assisting role where the solicitor or legal executive will be supporting more experienced associates, legal directors and partners. However, there will be the opportunity to develop your own caseload. The successful candidate should remember this is very much a client facing role where building strong relationships with clients is crucial.
