Costs Solicitor or unqualified fee earner – all levels – The costs team of this leading law firm is about to embark on a new recruitment campaign to attract a costs lawyer whether qualified or unqualified to specialise in costs work at all levels of complexity. Candidates should have claimant experience and will have the opportunity to gain access to a broad range of costs work from complex personal injury to commercial litigation.

- Salary: £Excellent (‘top tier’ rate) + bonus
- Reports to: Partner
- Previous Experience: Claimant costs experience including drafting Bills of Costs, Replies, Points of Dispute, Costs Budgets, Negotiations and Advices
Nature of costs work
The costs team of this leading national firm advises on the full gamut of costs work including costs advice in relation to the following areas:
- Personal injury including serious injury and clinical negligence
- Court of Protection,
- Commercial litigation and
- Other contentious work.
As such, the team offers costs lawyers a very broad variety of work and scope. The idea is to develop a ‘one-stop-shop’ for the entire national firm.
Overview of ideal candidates
The Partners are looking for experienced talent and those whose expertise can be developed and nurtured. Ideally you will be able to demonstrate.
- Proven claimant costs experience at a reputable firm
- Experience of fixed costs or negotiating and settling more complex files
- Excellent attention to detail
- Advocacy experience would be useful, but is not critical.
