Catastrophic Injury Solicitor (Senior Associate) – Manchester
This role offers the opportunity to work directly with an experienced Partner, advising key clients of the firm on high-value injury cases predominantly arising from Employers’ Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL), with some Road Traffic Accident (RTA) matters.
The team is also looking for those seeking a pathway to Legal Director and beyond. This is very much a development opportunity, offering fantastic progression.

- Salary: £55,000 – £65,000
- Work pattern: hybrid working
- Reports to: Partner
- Expertise: Candidates should demonstrate defendant insurance experience though claimant experience will potentially be considered, depending on the candidate.
Snapshot of role and responsibilities
This is a role for an experienced catastrophic injury lawyer who is looking for a genuine step up in their career. The role will include:
- Interviewing witnesses, drafting statements, and preparing court documents including pleadings and applications.
- Instructing counsel and attending conferences, Joint Settlement Meetings (JSMs), and mediations.
- Managing a varied caseload of complex EL/PL cases, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, and fatal claims.
- Building and maintain relationships with insurer clients.
- Assisting the Partner in drafting technical advice covering analysis on reserves, indemnity, liability, quantum, and causation issues.
- Attending court proceedings in person or via telephone as required.
- Delegating tasks to Paralegals and assist in their technical development.
