A leading defendant insurance practice is seeking a Catastrophic Injury Solicitor to join its highly regarded and Legal 500-recognised Complex Injury team in Birmingham.
This is an exceptional opportunity to work on a broad range of high-value, technically challenging claims alongside recognised specialists in catastrophic and serious injury litigation. Collaborative, supportive team set for expansion
You will join a collaborative and growing team that acts for major insurers and corporate clients on complex, multi-track personal injury claims. Working closely with senior lawyers and partners, you will manage your own caseload while assisting on significant catastrophic injury matters involving life-changing injuries and substantial damages.
This role would suit a solicitor looking to further develop their expertise within a specialist catastrophic injury practice renowned for the quality of its work and supportive culture.
Expect complex injury work of the highest quality
You will be involved in a wide range of serious and catastrophic injury claims, including:
- Brain injury claims
- Spinal cord injury claims
- Amputation cases
- Fatal accident claims
- High-value Road Traffic Accident (RTA) litigation
- Employers’ Liability (EL) claims
- Public Liability (PL) claims
- Complex multi-track personal injury matters
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of complex injury claims from instruction through to resolution
- Assisting on high-value catastrophic injury and large loss matters
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements and technical reports
- Attending Joint Settlement Meetings, mediations and court hearings
- Liaising with counsel, medical experts and insurer clients
- Advising on liability, quantum and litigation strategy
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
- Contributing to business development and client relationship initiatives
About You
Applications are welcomed from Solicitors ideally with at least 1 year’s PQE though strong NQs will be considered:
- Experience handling personal injury litigation matters
- Strong technical and drafting skills
- Exposure to complex and/or higher-value claims
- Excellent communication and client management abilities
- A proactive, commercial and collaborative approach
- A genuine interest in catastrophic injury and large loss litigation
