Catastrophic Injury Lawyer – Newcastle
This leading catastrophic injury team is set for further growth. The Partners are interested to hear from fee earners with claimant or defendant experience who are looking to grow a long-term career with this rapidly growing department handling complex injury work. Whilst the ideal is to hire someone local to the market, the Partners are also open to considering candidates on a remote-working basis.

- Salary: to £70,000
- Work pattern: Hybrid – 1 day in office / 4 days working from home. Fully remote working also considered
- Reports to: Partner
- Expertise: NQ+ solicitor or Legal Executive with either claimant or defendant personal injury experience – all the way up to Senior Associate and beyond.
Personal injury lawyers with broad range of PQE
As a guide, prospective applicants should be:
- 0 to 10 year PQE – this is intended as a guide. The team have made it clear they will readily speak to candidates with more PQE.
- Experienced in personal injury. Ideally with some experience of multi track work.
- A good communicator both written and verbal.
The team is looking for a talented catastrophic injury solicitor or a lawyer with proven personal injury experience who can be trained and developed by the team.
Catastrophic injury team able to accommodate candidates no matter their experience and stage of career
As an overview of the work undertaken by members of the team, successful candidates may be involved in:
- detailed analysis of quantum and liability evidence including identifying any discrepancies and preparing chronologies.
- Interviewing witnesses and drafting witness statements.
- Drafting pleadings and applications.
- Analysing medical reports and identifying relevant symptoms in order to instruct medical experts accordingly
- Producing advice on indemnity, liability, quantum and causation issues as well as strategy advice with supervision from Partner
- Instructing counsel and attending conferences and JSMs as well as mediations remotely and in person.
- Attending Court
Those at the start of their career will tend to work with an experienced Partner in an assisting capacity, whilst those with experience will be encouraged to build their own caseload whilst leading and developing others.
For those with more experience, you will be taking more of a lead function in your work whilst delegating to less experienced colleagues. You will also have the opportunity to take on more of an operational role in the team.
Catastrophic injury claims from £250K +
No matter what your level, the focus of the work will be multi track matters from roughly £250,000 to claims of £5m and above. The Partners are interested to hear from fee earners with claimant or defendant experience who are looking to grow a long-term career with this rapidly growing department.
