Our client is seeking a Casualty EL/PL Solicitor or Legal Executive with 2-5 PQE to join their specialist team in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor with strong academics and expertise in Employers Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) law, to work on unique and complex cases.
Job Overview
- Job Title: Associate / Senior Associate
- Location: Manchester, UK
- Salary: Up to £60,000
- Work Pattern: Hybrid (3 days from home)
- Reports to: Partner
- Experience: 2-5 PQE, ideally with Defendant EL/PL experience (Claimant experience considered)

- Handle a caseload of complex EL/PL cases
- Assist on ultra high-value catastrophic injury matters
- Develop skills in trial work, including pleadings, reporting, and strategy
- Work directly with Senior Associate and Legal Director
- Opportunities to build relationships with tier 1 global insurers and corporates in manufacturing, logistics, and more
- Exposure to high-profile cases involving severe injuries such as burns, assault, abuse, and neglect
- Advise clients on civil liability following terrorist acts and defend against false imprisonment and malicious prosecution claims
Responsibilities
As a key member of the team, you will:
- Manage a caseload of complex legal matters
- Draft pleadings, client reports, and instructions to counsel and experts
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on industry practices
- Attend conferences and develop client relationships
- Contribute to the team’s thought leadership initiatives
